About me
Sue's yoga journey began on the mat in 2000, after the birth of her third daughter. She'd grown up dancing and tumbling as a kid, and years later, could feel her body changing and thought yoga might help her hold onto her flexibility. She never expected to fall in love with it — but she did, completely.
As her children grew, she began to dream of teaching. But a back injury had left her doubting whether her body could carry that kind of work, and the dream sat quietly for years. Then came a season of reckoning: her body healed, her children left for college, and she found herself done — truly done — with the corporate world that had defined so much of her adult life. At the same time, she was walking through her own transformation, coming to terms with her addiction to alcohol and doing the deep work of healing her mind and spirit. When she finally found herself whole — physically, mentally, spiritually — she took the leap.
Yoga teacher training cracked the world wide open. Yoga philosophy, meditation, the science of the nervous system — these lit a fire in her that carried her far past the physical practice of asana. She fell hard for mindfulness, because it had changed her own life so profoundly. It changed her relationship with her thoughts. And once she felt that shift in herself, she knew she had to help others find it too. She believes, deeply, that so much of our suffering as a society comes from the mind — and mindfulness was the thing that saved her from her own. She wants to shout that from the mountaintops. Literally.
Since then, Sue has completed a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, is a Licensed TIYT Clinical Facilitator through the Sundara Foundation, and holds extensive trauma-informed yoga training. As a co-founder of Sana Meditation, she also brings years of experience leading sound bath meditations, weaving sound healing into her offerings as another doorway into stillness.
Today, Sue teaches yoga, meditation, and sound healing across the Tulsa area with Webb Wellness, and she's beyond honored to be bringing her practice to the mountain this October.
